How can January already be winding down? Now is the time to catch your breath and glimpse a bit of beauty that may have raced passed you this month. I’m taking a little time to share my favorite reads, deals, pieces of beauty and general hilarity from this month.

Grab a cup of coffee, tea or whatever you fancy and take a few moments to peruse.

My favorite blog reads of the month!

24 Lessons I Want to Teach My Daughter (Before She Leaves Home) from Kristen over at We Are THAT Family I love that she says “Embrace your looks. It’s a great way to say thanks to God.”

On The Kind of Friend I Want My Daughter to Have by my friend Anna of Girl With Blog

The Vanilla Trap by Jon Acuff

The Spiritual Discipline of Learning Nothing by Emily Freeman

The videos and television shows I watched when I should’ve been doing the dishes!

Binge watching Friends (Thanks Netflix!)- I needn’t explain. Instead all I will say is “How you doin?”

Downton Abbey– Seriously, I show the most restraint all year by waiting until January to watch. Now if we could just get to some happier days for Lady Edith.

A Chef’s Life- This might be my favorite show right now. As a girl who grew up in Eastern, NC this show is nostalgic in all the right ways. As a lover of food it is pure brilliance. Thank you PBS for taking a chance on this one.

Death Comes to Pemberly– Based on the novels from P.D. James and is a continuation of Pride and Prejudice. You can find it on Netflix.

Oh man, I never thought I’d see the day that I teared up at a formula ad. This is hilarious and touching and perfect.Seriously, put your drink down so it doesn’t come out your nose. This will make you forget your worries for a couple minutes.

What I’ve been listening too! {music, podcasts and such}

Big Boo Podcast- Sophie Hudson and Melanie Shankle can talk about cheese for an hour and I’ll listen.

The God-Centered Mom Podcast- Thanks Heather MacFadyen for always pointing our hearts to Christ through your podcast.

The Village Church Sermons– These have been really speaking truth to me lately.

Drew Holcombe and the Neighbors– These guys have another record just out 1/27 and I’m so looking forward to it!

The Avett Brothers singing In the Garden might just be the best thing I’ve heard in awhile. Such tight harmonies. Seriously their whole show from from Austin City Limits is phenomenal!

Things that are helping me organize my life in 2015!

I had a small victory in my life over the new year. I managed to get half way caught up on memory keeping- ya know, photo printing, photobooks and such. I couldn’t have done it without Shutterfly and their great deals. I saved so much money and feel really accomplished with minimal effort! First time customers can receive a free $10 toward their first purchase.

Being pregnant means drinking a ton of water and this bottle allows me to add fruit for a bit of a kick.

Elementality Jewelry– I am picky when it comes to jewelry. This store is in Asheville, NC and it is my husband’s go-to place to find a pretty bobble for me.Bright Copper Kettles & Warm Woolen Mittens
